People with diabetes have a unique burden of managing their own condition when compared with other chronic illnesses. In the past 50 years, rapid advances in diabetes technology have occurred making it harder for clinicians to understand and stay informed about what is available and how to identify candidates who could benefit from the different technologies. The scope of this education activity will be limited to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to provide more in-depth coverage of differentiating between available options, best practices for glucose control, barriers to adoption, costs, benefits, and key issues related to reimbursement.
